Preparing for filming

Welcome back !  In the meeting our priority was to completely establish what camera angles were going to do from start to finish of the film. This way when beginning to start our filming we can be prepared of what camera angles we want to do. This will also make us feel more prepared and organized. We started off with deciding what camera angles that will be done. As the director I decided on every camera angle on what should be done. For the beginning, of the film I decided that the film should open with a high angle. This camera angle would be great to start off since the character will be shown waking up from her bed. The following camera angle would be a wide shot to display more of the environment and show the set. Then as the character begins checking her phone  a medium shot angle would be done and then after a over shoulder shot. The over shoulder shot is important because it shows what is being displayed on the phone. Additionally, there would be a close up shot of the phone. The use of a variety of angles on a single scene can help make the audience more engage and that's why I decided to add many angles. The next scene is shot in a different set. The character is going to be getting ready for the day and doing things like brushing her teeth. To show that the character is entering a new set there will be tracking shot following her to the bathroom. Then I'll use a over shoulder shot that will show the mirror of character brushing her teeth. Then a medium close up will show another angle of the character brushing her teeth. The next scene is the character marking off the date on the calendar. There will be a medium long shot to show the character crossing out the date on the calendar. Then a wide shot will be done to show the character leaving. Then there will be a zoom in to show the calendar and the date that is crossed off. After that the shot will cut too the phone and showing the remaining minutes of the timer. Then a shot of the character pouring orange juice will be shown. Then there will be a medium close up of the girl drinking her orange juice and then pan to show that she looking at of the window and just trying to enjoying her day and drink her juice. Then a medium shot will show her dog barking. Then another medium shot will be used to show the girl turning around to check on her dog. While that happens it will cut too showing the amount of time left on the phone. Then everything will repeat and show the girl waking up in the bed again. I'll use the same angles to show the audience that the same routine is reoccurring again. I think I'll add some new angles like a low angle towards the end of the film. But the acting will be the main that will help the audience be able to determine the day is being repeated.

Today I’m  preparing to film so everything can be ready and good to go when filming starts. I first began getting the set ready by cleaning the set. I deep cleaned the set and organized everything. After that I researched different types of makeup and clothes. I started practicing different makeup looks to see which would be the best fit. The makeup look I’m trying to go for is a very natural and clean girl vibe. I don’t want too much makeup because I want to make it as authentic as possible. Then for the clothes I picked out different options to pick from. I tried them on and finally decided on an outfit I’ll be wearing. I decided there would only be one and outfit and no other outfit changes. This way it’s easier to film continuously and not have to stop for any outfit changes. So everything was almost prepped and ready to start filming. Other things I had to do is buy juice from the store. I went to the grocery store and bought a bottle of orange juice. Then I put it in the fridge and I set up other props like the tooth brush and cup. I also practiced using the timer on my phone. I wanted to make sure that I was confident and nothing would go wrong on the day of filming. Everything is now ready and set to go when I begin filming. The only thing I need to do is 24 hours before filming is charge my phone so I’m able to film. I then had a mini meeting with the videographer and we worked out the day and time for filming. Then that was it and everything was set to film. I’ll see you next time when filming starts.
