Research: How to make a short film

 Welcome Back! Im researching about the process of making a short film in order to prepare for making my short film. Through my research I learn valuable tips  and important elements needed. Understanding the resources you have available to you are important to take in account when writing your story. This way you’re able to work with the resources you have available and use them to incorporate in your writing. When writing don’t do your first instincts on how your story should unravel because the audience will expect that as well. Instead try to do the opposite on what you want to do so that way the audience is surprised by what you do. Knowing the tone of the film is essential because it correlates on how you will set up your location, camera angles, and wardrobe. So make sure everything is corresponding to create the intended tone.

Having good sound is needed to capture and complete the work because it makes the work feel more organic. Neglecting the sound will be negative on your film so when writing your film incorporate what sounds you can do will be best.Make sure your crew and the people you work with are being taken good care of and are fed. Food will help everyone be  in a better mood and work well together. If you’re working by yourself giving yourself breaks in between working on it. This can help make our project better. Looking at the current project your always currently work on can make it hard to see it more clearly and so getting advice from other people and taking a break can help bring back a more clear state of mind. When adding music to your work and you’re unable to have the resource to produce and make music for your work, using pre made song and licensing music can be used instead. 

The research I conducted is helpful in helping me in my process of understanding and planning out my project. After the research I’m going to consider on more things like the tone of my film and how I can get everything to work together to create the tone I want to accomplish. It made me pay more attention to the sound effects of my video and use the resources to execute the sound effects. Overall, many thing are needed to consider in what goes into making a short film.

 Genre Research: 47 Meters Down: Uncaged What elements of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? The elements of the genre that I chose to base my final task on that this movie have is the lighting of the movie. In the beginning of the movie the movie has a really bright lighting but as the movie progressed the lighting becomes really dull and dark. The first question is How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? Conventions are used by our product, which originally appeared in the horror genre. Horror is the genre of our film; and it can be fiction or nonfiction, and its goal is to frighten audiences. Our plan was to create a horror genre fiction. The horror genre included elements like  plot twists, a sense of terror, and cliffhangers. These components are a part of our own product. You can observe a guy looking for someone in our product. The guy finds a monster-like thing that is racing after him and stabbing a girl while he is looking for someone. Finishing Editing

Hello Cambridge ! It's great to be back and I hope you're all doing well. Here's a update on our film process. After consideration among our team, we've decided to maintain the existing footage without further filming. Unfortunately, our busy schedules have made it challenging to coordinate additional filming sessions. But dont worry and rest assured were dedicating our time into editing to ensure the final product is the best we can do. Right now were focusing on getting the editing done. As mentioned in a previous blog post, we're using  Adobe Premiere Pro to edit the  footage we've captured. Collaborating with my team, I've been involved in guiding the editing process for this new footage. We agreed that  the new footage should be added to the beginning of the video would make the footage flow better. It was also a better fit then the footage that was previously in the beginning.
